2008: Paymentsense founded

For Paymentsense it all started on a bench in Las Vegas. Two friends, George Karibian and Jan Farrarons, had a eureka moment outside the Venetian hotel. They realised the card payments industry was broken and in desperate need of fixing.

2009: Our very first customer

After spending the first 12 months building over 4m lines of code for our tech platform called Mothership, we finally launched in late 2009. We boarded our first customer, a hairdresser from West London and the rest, as they say is history.

2010: First to offer 3 day card machine set up and UK-based 24/7 support

Paymentsense is founded on two things, cutting edge technology and great people. In 2010 we became the first provider to offer a terminal in five days and access to support around the clock.

2011: First to launch 24 hour ecommerce setup

In 2011 we went one better, the first in the market to pioneer ecommerce setup within a day. It was unheard of, people said it couldn’t be done. Well we did it!

2013: 30,000 customers boarded

By the summer of 2013, we’d successfully boarded over 30,000 customers making us the largest merchant service provider in Europe. We celebrated by doubling-down our efforts in order to enhance our product offering to our customers.

2014: First to offer automated till roll delivery

It may not sound like much but our Automated Till Rolls sparked the beginning of a wave of innovative products that transformed our product set. From Cancellation Protection to PCI Phone Validation, we like to go beyond the ordinary and do what’s right for our customers.

2017: 60,000 customers boarded

Doubling the size of the business in four years was something we were incredibly proud of. It also happened to coincide with us being placed on the Sunday Times tech track for the 4th year in a row.

2018: First to offer Integrated payments with no extra cost

We believe in making passion pay. That’s why we spent millions developing a cloud-based technology that creates a seamless connection between your card machine and your till. We call it Connect and it comes for free if you take a card machine from us.

We’re more interested in providing great service, but it’s always nice to be noticed.
