Inspired by the coffee connoisseurs of Australia and Asia, Craig Bunting wanted to inject some of that creative caffeinated flair into England’s scene. With his friend and fellow co-founder Michael Thorley they started Bear, a refreshingly alternative café, eatery and bar, now operating across five locations in the UK.
Bear was founded on the idea that people should be able to enjoy great quality food and drinks in a relaxing space, from the early morning until dawn (when they start swapping flat whites and croissants for espresso martinis and mezzes).
Craig and Michael have always been forward-thinking, which is why they needed their services and technology to reflect this. From reward apps for loyal customers, to a completely cloud-based EPoS, everything has been meticulously chosen to put the customer’s experience first, including their Paymentsense portable card machines.
Setting up a seamless integration between card terminals and their EPoS was especially important for Bear, their customers, and their staff. They needed hardware that was reliable and mobile, to show off their baristas’ skills across the length and breadth of the UK, with pop-up events and collaborations with new clients and partners.
