Robert Clayton always wanted to run a local independent restaurant that served great food in an unpretentious setting. It’s an ambition he’s finally achieved. “I just love food. So, when I got the opportunity to cook (while mum and dad were at work) it became a passion.” This ‘passion’ eventually helped him become, at 25, one of the youngest head chefs to achieve a Michelin Star. Now, with his newest venture, Clayton’s kitchen, he’s using all that expertise to create uncomplicated dishes that explore and showcase the freshest ingredients around. Like all the best ideas, its genius lies in its simplicity.
Switching to Paymentsense Robert first heard about Paymentsense through a friend who was using them. He was already considering a change, having become frustrated with his previous card payments supplier. “Paymentsense were really good. You’ve got someone there all the time and the switch was very smooth. We still had a bit of contract left to run, but they took care of all that.” He believes it’s really improved the business. “The customer journey is a lot smoother because you can do everything at the table rather than going back and forward to the till. And, at the end of the night, there’s just one button to press, which makes the evening cash-up so simple.” He’s a happy customer. “I would recommend Paymentsense to any business because they make it all so easy. I’ve just recommended them to a guy down the road actually.”
